Interreg NPA Second call for projects Pre announcement
The second call for projects is planned to open on 5th October and close on 5th December 2022 11:59 (noon) CET.
The Monitoring Committee (MC) is looking to fund projects in the following Priorities:
PRIORITY 1: Strengthening the innovation capacity for resilient and attractive NPA communities
1.1 – Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies
1.2 – Reaping the benefits of digitisation for citizens, companies, research organisations and public authorities and
1.3 – Enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs and job creation in SMEs, including by productive investments
PRIORITY 2: Strengthening the capacity for climate change adaptation, and resource sufficiency in NPA communities
2.1 – Promoting energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions
2.2 – Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem based approaches and
2.3 – Promoting the transition to a circular and resource efficient economy
PRIORITY 3: Strengthening the organisational capacity among NPA communities to make use of cooperation opportunities
3.1 – Enhancing institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders to implement macro-regional strategies and sea-basin strategies, as well as other territorial strategies
Besides main projects in Priorities 1 and 2, the Monitoring Committee is looking to fund capacity building preparatory projects in Priority 3. The purpose of these small-scale projects is to build up cooperation capacity and experience for representatives of specific underrepresented groups (e.g. young people, and indigenous peoples) in the programme area. The ambition is that partners become better suited for engagement in main projects as partners in the future.
In the second call, the Monitoring committee is especially seeking project applications addressing the development and transfer of capacity building concepts to engage young people in cooperation, which supports them to implement strategies and pilot actions benefitting their communities.
How to Apply
In order to support project development, the Secretariat is hosting two online “How to Apply” seminars. These events are targeted to organisations considering applying with the programme and willing to learn how to develop a successful project application.
In addition, it will be possible to book one-to-one online meetings, called “Project clinics” with the programme administration for discussing project ideas and specific questions.

This event is focusing on developing quality projects.
Project Clinics – 20th and 21st October 2022, 11:00 – 15:00 CET
These individual meetings address specific project ideas and questions.
How to Apply in Jems – 16th November, 2022, 13:00 – 15:00 CET
This event is focusing on submitting an application on Jems, the online monitoring system.
